toxin free Cleaning

When it comes to your home, creating a space free of toxins & chemicals is essential.
Cheap & easy culture has slowly caused toxic ingredients to sneak into our kitchen cooking tools & we aren’t even aware! Things like Plastic, BPA, Teflon, Bleach, Phthalates, Aluminum, & Styrofoam can all cause neurological issues, hormone imbalance, & even cancer.

So why are these toxins bad?
We don't want these ingredients in our homes because they can cause a longggg list of health issues. Things like respiratory & immune issues, hormone imbalances, brain damage, rashes/skin issues & many more things. When you use cleaners & items in your kitchen that contain these toxins you are unknowingly consuming them whether by eating little bits on your plate or breathing the fumes from the cleaners in. Ditching these items in your life will do you a LOT of good.

Household Toxins to Avoid:
-Teflon (PTFE)
-Lead
-Ammonia
-Chlorine
-Phthalates
-Sodium Hydroxide
T-riclosan
-Bisphenol A (BPA)
-Aluminum
-Polystyrene
-Phthalate
-Copper
-Perfluorooctanoic Acid (PFOA)

Teflon- Teflon, is commonly known in the kitchen as “non-stick”. It's what they coat your cooking pans in. It's one of the most toxic chemicals you’ll find lurking in your kitchenware, yikes!! When you heat Teflon, it releases at least 6 different toxic gasses- many of those are known to cause cancer. One, called monofluoroacetic acid, is known for being lethal even at small dosages.
Aluminum- While purchasing aluminum cookware is undoubtedly attractive from a money-saving standpoint, the consequences of doing so are more than a little scary. Aluminum is a known neurotoxin that researchers estimate inhibits more than 200 biologically important functions in your body. Additional studies link aluminum exposure to Alzheimer’s disease & dementia, while others have shown it causes nervous system damage.
Bleach- Not only is a known neuro-toxin, but it also causes respiratory & immune issues when breathed in.

So what can you do to avoid those toxins?
1) Toss your dish soaps & cleaning products & get Thieves instead. *more on that below*
2) Ditch these cooking/food items: plastic water bottles or food containers, teflon-coated pans, aluminum foil, plastic bags, & oven/drain cleaners.
3) Switch to these cooking/food items: cast iron pans, glass plates & water glasses, reusable bags, glass storage containers, & thieves household cleaner, wood cutting boards.

I have ditched all other cleaning products in my home & only use thieves household cleaner.
Why? The quality of this cleaner is 2nd to none. I can confidently trust that there's no junk hidden in it, it's safe to use around kids, food, & pets, a GREAT price, & I only need one cleaner to clean almost my whole home!
There is also a whole Thieves Cleaning Bundle that has all the essentials you need to detox your cleaning routine.

Something else that is really important when it comes to having a kitchen free of toxins is making sure you are bringing good quality food into your home. I have put together a list of the items that are okay to buy non-organic vs the items that you really should prioritize buying organic. Some produce is grown in a way that commonly uses fewer pesticides & chemicals than others. While other produce is also more likely to “soak in” the pesticides & chemicals into their fruit which would be a reason to buy these items organic so you’re not ingesting these toxins.
